The original diagnosis of Jose Reyes‘ overactive thyroid has been disputed to a certain degree by doctors in New York, but for the time being, Reyes will stay in New York until further test results are returned.
No matter what, regarding this condition, the first thing I am concerned with is the personal health of Reyes. Hopefully, this is nothing more than a minor imbalance and he can get back to normal once again soon.
I spent the better part of two days doing nothing but studying Jose Reyes in Port St. Lucie last month, and there wasn’t any indication of fatigue, which is one of the indicators of a thyroid problem. He was the typical excitable Reyes we have come to know over the years, to the point I was worried he would get hurt from being so animated.
Here’s to hoping this is a small bump in the road, and hopefully within a week or so, we will be watching the happy-go-lucky Reyes on the field in St. Lucie, preparing for Opening Day.
